Holyport Awards - 10th May

Holyport FC ended the 2009-2010 season with their presentation night on Friday 7th May.

The honours for the first team were won by:-
Golden Boot – Jamie Handscomb 21 goals in 32 appearances
Managers Player – Carl Reeves
Players Player – Carl Reeves

The reserves honours were awarded to:-
Golden Boot – Dan Hunt
Managers Player – Jordan Sinclair
Players Player – Jordan Sinclair

The club also had a collection for young Jake Brooks as he makes his way to America for 6 months coaching in June. The lads raised Jake an impressive £110.00 to help him on his way.

A special mention must also go to David Butler who has been at the club for as long as all can remember and next season will be leaving to start a side in the Reading League. Dave collected the Hellenic player of the year in 2005/6.

Sweetman For Port - 5th May

Holyport FC announce Derek Sweetman as their new manager. Derek beat several experienced and high profile managers’ to the position as Holyport number one.

The Club is confident that Derek is the man with the experience and knowledge to take Holyport to the next level and is fully aware of the clubs ambitions. Derek has gained extensive managerial experience at Slough, Marlow, Maidenhead United, Egham, Windsor & Eton, Bracknell Town, Burnham and was involved as Assistant Manager at Zamaretto Premier Division Didcot Town this season. He also played for Southampton as a youngster.

Derek is highly regarded and an enthusiastic manager with extensive local knowledge, Holyport are delighted to welcome him to the club. Derek was introduced to the players on Tuesday 4th May and is looking forward to working with and developing the current squad for promotion.

Derek commented “Holyport are an ambitious local club with some terrific youngsters and I am very much looking forward to working with all at the club and helping them to try and achieve their ambitions.”

Sinclair Steps Down - 4th May

After helping to steer Holyport Reserves to two cup victory’s in successive years resulting in promotion to the first team management set up, Andy Sinclair has decided to step down from football to give himself a break for a while.

Andy who also Chairs FC Holyport, the clubs youth sides, stated: “I've thought long and hard about taking time out and I feel at this moment in time I have nothing left to give the sport or the club. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Holyport and have made some good friends. I will be staying on as Chairman of FC Holyport but will no longer be running a team. I wish the players, management and the committee all the best for the future."

Club Secretary Graham Broom commented “Andy has brought a lot to Holyport Football Club especially in the area of professionalism and club discipline attributes he acquired during his successful career as a pro boxer. Under Andy and Noel Steadman the Club have won two Norfolkians’ Cup titles. We will all miss him being around, he has been a hard working member of the staff and a great friend”.

Andy will be in the dug out for the final time this coming Thursday in the Presidents Reserve Cup final at Old Woodstock Town Kick Off, 6-30pm. This time it will be to help Noel who has taken his team to the club’s first ever Hellenic Cup Final.

Stand & Deliver - 30th April

After originally receiving planning permission for the spectator stands and shelter in early April, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead decided they had made an error.

A local resident had not had the chance to speak in the original meeting, so on Wednesday the application was considered once more. The intial meeting voted 10:1 in favour, but Wednesday was a closer affair at 6:3 in favour. The last few weeks have been a stressful time for club secretary Graham Broom and planning consultant Stephen Bowley. All concerned are delighted that this has been finalised and the club can move forward and look forward to raising the required funds.

Holyport drew 2-2 all with Woodley on Wednesday evening, 28th April, which meant the haul of 58 points led to a 3rd place finish, their highest ever finish. Handscomb and Driver scored for Port who led 2-1 until the 87th minute. Both teams went for the winner in the ten minutes of stoppage time that was played.

Still Need To Push On - 28th April

Holyport Reserves may have ended their league campaign on Saturday but they still have the difficult task off facing Newbury in the Semi Final of the Presidents Cup this weekend.

Newbury Reserves have had some good results recently and I am sure they been delighted with the impact that the first team players have had since dropping down. Reserve manager Noel Steadman commented "It would be nice if the game was "reserves v reserves" on Saturday but we will have to wait and see."

The management duo of Steadman and Tyrell have been delighted with the team spirit and workmanship in recent weeks and this was evident in another clean sheet against Thame at the weekend. Steadman added:"Once again the league table doesn't lie and for the third year we are a few points short of winning the league. It’s disappointing to finish third again but we still have silverware to play for and I am sure the players want to add another medal to the ones we have collected over the past two seasons."

Looking for Third Place - 23rd April

All at Holyport will be hoping that the first team can secure the Division One East double over Finchampstead on Saturday.

This of course will be no easy feat, but a win would mean that Holyport would be guaranteed a third place finish with the one game remaining and hopeful inclusion in next season's FA Cup. The haul of 60 points would also be Holyport’s highest since entering the league back in 2002.

All The Best From 'Port' - 21st April

Holyport would like to congratulate Thame United and Wokingham & Embrook on their promotion to the Hellenic Premier.

Last nights 2-1 win for Wokingham over Port meant they secured promotion to the top flight. Over the course of the season there is no doubt that these two sides have been the most consistent and tightest sides, the table never lies as they say. Rest assured all at Port will be aiming to join them next season as they look to push on from what will be their highest points and final position since joining the Hellenic Division One East. Three points over Finchampstead on Saturday will secure third place for Holyport, and all being well entry into the FA Cup.

Price To Pay - 19th April

Two good wins in the past week for Holyport FC have come with a heavy price.

Whilst Tuesday night’s fixture is a mouth watering tie between a determined Wokingham and an improving Holyport side, Holyport FC now believe that their injury hit squad will be up against it to bring away the three points. A few injuries and suspensions have hit us hard and just as we were starting to gain momentum and consistency; it’s so unfortunate to lose such big players with only a handful of games left to contest.

Holyport FC is looking to consolidate their position in the league as last time against Wokingham they went 3-0 up to lose 4-3. Although at this stage there is no emphasis to win for Holyport, Wokingham have the pressure of the position they find themselves in, and 3 points are a must for the side who now play their games at Bracknell Town Football Club.

Thanks Richie - 16th April

Holyport FC would like to acknowledge their thanks to Richie Reeves.

Richie is a loyal supporter and uncle of team captain Carl Reeves. Richie went out of his way to raise funds for Holyport by holding a raffle at the Holyport v Eton Wick game on Bank Holiday Monday. In total Richie raised £227 for the club and many prizes were handed out. 100% of this money will go back into improving the club as Holyport look to make further improvements in the close season. Many thanks to all participants that brought ticket’s and the 85 spectators who took in the game.

Holyport won 3 – 1 at ‘The Wick’ Wednesday night thanks to a brace from Lee Hawkins and a 89th minute penalty from Dan Rapley.

Holyport travel to Penn & Tylers Green on Saturday looking to make it three away wins on the bounce. Back in October at Summerleaze Port battled out an uninspiring 0 – 0 draw. Care taker manger Donati commented after Wednesday win “After having secured two very good wins away at Chinnor and Eton Wick, we will look to come back with something from the game on Saturday. Penn maybe in a low league position but are an established Hellenic team and will never throw the towel in. Our players are prepared and must be focused on the challenge ahead that Saturday brings.”

Local Derby For 'Port. -14th April

Holyport visit Eton Wick tonight (6.30pm Kick Off), this is another must win game for Port to maintain the chase for 3rd place and to keep alive their slim chance at clinching 2nd place from Wokingham and Embrook.

Following a good win at Chinnor on Saturday, which is a very difficult place to visit and come away with three points Holyport will be looking to replicate their narrow win over Eton Wick from 2 weeks ago, although a better performance would be appreciated by the Port faithful. The previous game on Bank Holiday Monday was a scrappy affair in which Port never reached top gear – but a win is a win.

Sponsor Boost - 12th April

Holyport Football Club received an end of season boost from club sponsors Thakrar, Coombs and Company. Who have confirmed their continued commitment to the Summerleaze Village based side sponsoring the club for the 2010/11 Season.

Club Secretary Graham Broom commented “We are fully aware of the extremely difficult trading conditions that business is currently going through. With this in mind, Chairman Tony Andrews and I are extremely grateful for the generosity and commitment shown to Holyport Football Club by Roger and Jean Coombs and all at Thakrar, Coombs and Company. We can assure them the money will be spent on improving football for the benefit of all at Summerleaze Village.”

Holyport FC have been granted planning permission for two small stands and have applied to enter both TheFA Vase and for the first time the The FA Cup next season. Plans Approved - 6th April

Holyport Football Club received fantastic news last Wednesday, 31st March, as plans for covered accommodation at Summerleaze Village was approved by the local Council.

The seated stand and shelter plans which were approved mean that should Holyport have the opportunity to gain promotion then Summerleaze Village will now 'tick all of the boxes'. The seated stand will allow for 115 spectators and the shelter will provide accommodation for 85 standing spectators. The hard work now begins as all at Holyport look for funding for this new venture. Holyport would like to put on record their thanks to Stephen Bowley who has worked as planning consultant on this project and once again to club Secretary Graham Broom who has spent many hours putting the whole project together.

Difficult Kilburn - 2nd April

Division One East Holyport travel to South Kilburn tomorrow knowing that it is a difficult place to visit and collect the points from. Holyport are hoping the weather holds and the game can be played as Friday afternoon heavy rain is expected and the last thing all clubs need now is more postponements.

Caretaker manager Tom Donati commented after the win against Finchamstead last Saturday “After a second hard fought victory this week against Finchampstead and a second consecutive clean sheet, we are looking to carry on this good form away to South Kilburn. Although South Kilburn is not an easy place to go and they have turned in some very good results recently, so we must be well prepared and determined to take something from the game”

Holyport International - 30th March

Holyport FC had the pleasure of another visit from an international fan. Season ticket holder Cader Esoof is slowly spreading the word about Holyport FC and had the delight of bringing along friends Pete Grant and his wife Hiromi.

Pete is Australian but actually lives in Japan where he teaches English as a foreign language. He supports Cerezo Osaka in the J-League but has a great passion for football in England, in particular for Non League football. Pete keeps up to date over the web, and sometimes listens to matches over the radio. He has gradually got to hear about Holyport through Cader, and checks results.

After many years of trying to persuade Pete to visit the club CaderI was delighted to finally see him make it to the match against Newbury, and he received a warm welcome from Secretary Graham Broom who presented him with a Club Badge.

The Team didn't disappoint, providing Pete and his wife Hiromi a well deserved 1-0 win on their first visit.

We must have made a good impression, because they have vowed to return back again when the weather improves!

Tough Game For Port - 27th March

Holyport face a tough home game today against Finchampstead. Over the years games between Port and Finch have been very close encounters and this one will surely be no different.

With the good one nil victory over Newbury on Tuesday night caretaker manager Tom Donati commented. “After a solid performance on Tuesday night and a good team win we are looking for consistency in a disciplined and organised approach to the game. A first clean sheet since January and 3 points after a weekend defeat was the exact response for us to build on."

Important Win For Port - 25th March

Holyport got a deserved three points against a very determined Newbury side at Summerleaze Tuesday night.

Holyport were made to work hard and be disciplined against a young but skillful Newbury team. With Milton slipping up the previous night it was imperative that Port got three points to close the gap between 3rd and 5th to just one point. Donati commented “we told the players that what ever happened tonight we needed the three points to stay in the hunt for third, I was confident we would get the winning goal as we were the only side really going for the win in the 2nd half. With games coming thick and fast for all sides now we will see some strange results before the season is out. We now need to have a good training session on Thursday and make sure we go into the game to Finchamstead on Saturday ready.”

Holyport High - 19th March

Holyport will be going into tomorrow's fixture with Farnborough Reserves on a high, after an emphatic comeback against Chalfont Wasps last weekend.

Trailing 3-0 after 28 minutes the Port fought back to win 4-3. The self belief gained from ths comeback will put the squad in good stead for the remainder of the season. Caretaker manager Tom Donati commented: "We did well and showed great character to come back from a 3 goal deficit. Although we don't want to concede that many goals again we have shown we have the strength and belief to fight back when needed".

The trip to Farnborough will be another tough affair as Port went down 3-1 to Boro at Summerleaze three weeks ago. Two goals in the last five minutes nicked the points for a young Boro side. All the Port squad will be looking to reverse the result at Lions Park tomorrow.

Effective Signing for 'Port' - 18th March

After taking over as caretaker manager last Sunday Tom Donati has wasted no time in making his mark and strengthening the first team squad.

Taking promising youngster Matt Mooney on loan from Keith Scott at Windsor and Eton, Matt Rolfe from Flackwell Heath,17 year old west London lad Andrew Capewell and two 17 year olds from Wycombe, Ben O’Connor and Anthony Tyson

Andrews Steps Down - 15th March

Holyport FC announce that Jason Andrews has stepped down as manager after four years in charge of the, Hellenic League One East, Summerleaze based club.

Jason made his decision after the Thame defeat last weekend and after discussions with Assistant Andy Sinclair, then coach Tom Donati (right) and the Port committee, it was decided that Tom (27) will step in as caretaker manager until the end of the season.

It must be added that it was not the Thame defeat that lead to the decision which he has not taken lightly. As the club moves forward on and off the pitch Jason has decided that being involved in the management and committee issues is too much of a strain on him outside of his work and family commitments. Jason has made it very clear to all at Port that he will still be heavily involved at Holyport but in a ‘non’ managerial role.

All at Holyport would like Jason for his terrific work is has done since he took over at Holyport. The club have improved season on season, are now regularly finishing in the top third of the league and have achieved his ambition of playing in the FA Vase. This is a major achievement since he picked up the reigns when Holyport were regularly a bottom third side.

Port Stinger? - 12th March

Holyport entertain their good friends Chalfont Wasps at Summerleaze tomorrow, in what is an important game for the Port side.

After suffering from two defeats on the bounce they will face a rejuvenated Wasps side who were unlucky not to get a point at Thame and then smashed four past Henley last weekend. Holyport must get back to winning ways if they are to continue their current fight for third place and also go on to finish in their highest ever position since entering the league. Last weekends defeat to Thame was a game of two halves, but once again it was a slow start by the Holyport who conceded after just seven minutes.

Earlier in the season it was a five nil win away at the "Wasps Nest", but things will be completely different tomorrow as Chalfont have been rebuilding and adding to their squad with players from Hayes, Beaconsfield and Denham.

AEK Holyport? - 7th March

Holyport FC had a visit from their Greek supporters club on Tuesday night when Greek 'Groundhopper' Billy (short for Vasilis) came along to the ground. 'Billy' is a relative of die hard Port fan Cader who is seen at Port games home and away.

Vasilis checks the Port and Hellenic website weekly and knew all of the players and was delighted to receive a Port scarf from top goal scorer Jamie Handscomb (pictured).

'Billy' unfortunately didn't see the win he was hoping for but he and Cader watched Port reserves at Ascot yesterday and sure the victory they had been waiting for as Port run out 2-1 winners.

Carrying on the international ground hoppers theme Cader will be bringing an Australian in a few weeks. The word is slowly spreading...we are gathering International momentum.

Breaking Point - 6th March

Following a loss at home to Farnborough Reserves in the week Port are six points off Thame United who still have a game in hand. So anything but a win could be seen as a real set back and then they would back in the battle for 3rd place with Milton, Henley and Woodley Town.

With Woodley v Holyport postponed due to the wet weather last weekend several of the Holyport contingent made their way over to Sports Park in Wallingford to watch the Thame v Chalfont game. This was as much to take in a game as it was to have a look at Ports next two fixtures.

Andrews commented “After the Boro game of course we were all disappointed as we created enough to collect all three points, then it was probably my fault that we conceded twice in the last five minutes as I told the players to push on for the win. In regard to the Thame game it has always been a must win for us, so nothing has really changed from that point”.

The game at Summerleaze earlier in the season finished 3-3 and it was another game were Port started slowly as they were two down inside ten minutes. Hopefully the dry weather this week has helped to dry the Wallingford pitch out a little so both teams can play some football as they did when they met before.

Disappointed - 3rd March

First Meeting - 1st March

Holyport play Farnborough Reserves on Tuesday 2nd March at Summerleaze Village – 19.45pm Kick Off.

This is the first meeting between the two sides and with Farnborough finding their shooting boots recently there will be goals a plenty at Summerleaze on Tuesday evening. Following the postponement of the game away to Woodley on Saturday it is imperative that Holyport get three points to close the gap on new leaders Thame United.

Ports Nos 2 Andy Sinclair commented "It's important that we take each game as it comes and make sure we win them one by one rather than looking ahead at the games coming. We know that if we play to our potential then we have what it takes to collect all three points.”

Match Of The Day?? - 26th February

Holyport travel to East Park Farm tomorrow to face Woodley Town, a game which they believe "Must be the Match of the Day in the FTL Futbol Division One East". Holyport and Woodley are both top of February form table with a maximum of nine points from their recent games.

Holyport travel knowing that they still hold the best away form in the League and will be looking to maintain this as they face a confident side in Woodley Town.

Port manager Jason Andrews commented “We lost 3-1 at home to Woodley back in December and they have gone on to find some good form and results. We didn’t do ourselves any favors that day conceding 3 goals in 5 minutes. We have worked hard in training this week and we know this will be a difficult game, but as always we will be aiming for three points. If we can get a result then we go clear in third with a few games in hand, that should be incentive enough to the players”.

Holyport will be close to full strength, returning will be Lennon and Driver after missing last week through injury while Adam Sharp is back after playing 90 minutes in the reserves last week. The only missing player is Rapley who is suspended.

"Villager's" Looking for Progression - 25th February

Holyport Football Club have today submitted plans to the Royal Borough of Maidenhead for approval to install covered accommodation for 200 people. 

Off the field the Holyport Committee are doing everything possible to keep the chance of promotion alive should they continue their good form that is a real possibility. Since 2002/03 when Holyport joined the Hellenic League they have made real strides in non league football, and Summerleaze Village has seen development upon development.

Secretary Graham Broom commented. “When we moved to Summerleaze it was just a field and we are very grateful to Summerleaze who have helped us greatly over the years and this included leveling the surface to begin with.  Over the years we have installed post and rail, hard standing, dug outs, flood lights, new changing rooms and a fully working tea bar.  To get the stand and shelter in place for the beginning of next season would really show that ‘If it’s possible, it’s achievable’.”

Railwaymen To Dock At Port? - 19th February

Holyport entertain ‘The Railwaymen’ at Summerleaze on Saturday 20th Feb 3pm Kick Off. This will be their fourth meeting this season and although The Port have scored thirteen goals to Didcot's four it will be a much closer game than any previous ones.

The management team of Andrews, Sinclair and Donati are more than aware that this will be a tougher game than the league table suggests. Didcot led twice against Thame United last week and also beat Milton on Tuesday night. Andrews commented “We know that they will be coming here full of confidence after the last few results, and if we give them time to impose themselves and play their passing game they will like all teams in this league create problems for us. I am confident that my players will seize the opportunity that has arrived to seize third place and push Thame and Wokingham all the way for the title”.

Keep Up the Good Work - 13th February

Holyport maintained their 100% winning start to 2010 with a 4-3 victory over Milton at ‘The Heights’ last Saturday and Manager Andrews was delighted with all that played, “The result was closer than it should have been, we had enough chances to put the game beyond doubt but three points is three points and we move onto Rayners Lane at home this Saturday. It was great for Jamie Handscomb to get on the score sheet after his long suspension, you can see his confidence is back and he was buzzing at training on Wednesday night. Jamie Wright was also immense on Saturday and he has been playing really well this year so it’s great to have selection problems”.

Holyport at back to full strength now following the return of Coleman, Sharp, Donati and Driver at training on Wednesday evening so the management duo of Andrews and Sinclair will have some tough calls to make on Friday.

The Port beat Rayners Lane 4-1 earlier in the season but Summerleaze hasn’t quite been the fortress this season that it should be, all at Holyport we be looking to win this game and really push on into the business end of the season as we are only half way through the league campaign so…. ‘If it’s possible, it’s achievable’.

Ovens Debut Pleases Port - 4th February

Holyport FC manager Jason Andrews was pleased with the workmanlike performance against South Kilburn on Saturday.

Andrews commented. “We were delighted with the three points and of course a clean sheet is always great, we were a little short on numbers due to injuries and illness but the lads sone what was asked. Lee Ovens (pictured) made his debut in the centre of defence and was fantastic, along with Sam Jones."

"Jonah always plays wherever we need him and his approach is fantastic, last week right back this week centre back – next weekend who knows!”

Goals from Lennon and Rapley secured the two nil win which never really looked in doubt as South Kilburn never really threatened Collis in goal. This Saturday port travel to Milton United, the game is must win for both teams

Looking For More Of The Same - 30th January

Lee Ovens will also make his debut this weekend after a frustating time watching from the side lines.

Holyport at currently 8th but with a few games in hand on the teams above, but as they say no game is an easy game. With Holyport now back to full strength except for injured Aaran Coleman every player will need to stake a claim for their place.

"Port & Almonds" - 23rd January

After a five week lay off Holyport return to action today when they entertain Almondsbury Town in The ‘Bluefin' Insurance Brokers Challenge Cup. Having won through the qualifying round and Round One, they have progressed to the last 16 for the first time ever The Port have been rewarded with a home tie against the Premier title chasers in one of the biggest matches of their current season.

During the break manager Jason Andrews and Andy Sinclair have been busy trying to freshen up the squad and have signed Lee Ovens from Marlow United and local lad Lee Hawkins. The pair have a fully fit squad to choose from but are without Ovens (cup tied) and top scorer Jamie Handscomb (suspended)

Andrews stated. “ This is a great game to come back to after the long break, we have checked out Almondsbury and they appear to have no weaknesses, we will therefore need to be at our very best to win this one. I hope the people of Maidenhead turn out to support us as we will need all the help we can get”

Jason Andrews was delighted to get back to winning ways at Kintbury last weekend in what was a difficult game for both sides. "The weather was horrendous and this in turn made it difficult for flowing football but it was imperative we got the winning feeling back" again stated Andrews. After going 3-1 up Port once again gave a late goal away and had to battle out the remaining few minutes to secure the victory. Now the Prestwood results have been wiped from the table it makes for even tighter reading as Port have lost 3 points and 13 goals, so its now even tighter from 2nd to 5th with only 5 points between all four sides. Today Holyport travel to Henley in what will be another tight affair, Holyport had led the home game against Henley until again conceding another 90th minute goal which meant the points were shared. Henley have had a mixed few results recently but this means nothing in this league. A win for Port would put them right back in the mix for promotion and only see them 5 points behind leaders Wokingham & Embrook. Andrews and Sinclair will be missing keeper Collis and Paul Reed.

Holyport Saddened By Prestwood Demise - 26th November

Holyport Football Club would like to put on record how sorry we are to hear of the sad demise of our friends at Prestwood Football Club.

As a club we have had many hard fought battles with Prestwood over the years but have been made to feel welcome at all times, especially in one of the local pubs after the game.

We read about Bicester and now Prestwood and it appears that although Football is the National game there is little understanding or support for those clubs who are pillars of the community.

Guy Stansbury and all at the club should be proud of themselves as they have continued to make every effort to survive, for so long with such little help. We wish the officials, players and supporters the very best of luck for the future and very much hope a Prestwood "Phoenix" will rise from the ashes in the not too distant future.

Response Required - 20th November

The Holyport management will be looking for a response tomorrowwhen Port make the trip to Kintbury.

Last Saturday Holyport blew a three nil lead at home to league leaders Wokingham and Embrook. At the end of the match, manager Jason Andrews was left speechless, as were the watching Port faithful. Holyport had played some fantastic football in the opening 55 minutes of the game and then during the remaining 35 minutes they hit the self destruct button and went on to concede another 90th minute goa, the fifth time this season.

The only positive to take is that the teams around Port, South Kilburn and Henley Town dropped points as well. The management team of Andrews and Sinclair have urged their young squad to go on an unbeaten run to try and get clear of the "mini league" currently fighting for 2nd place.

Andrews knows that Kintbury is not an easy place to go and pick up three points. He is too aware of Kintbury’s strengths after they beat Holyport earlier this season at Summerleaze. So far this season Holyport have a 100% record in their away games and they will be looking to maintain this even though they are missing the Dividion One East's top scorer Lewis Driver through suspension.

Chapman Stays With Port - 9th October

Holyport of Division One East are delighted to announce that after a seven day approach for young Port right back Scott Chapman he has committed himself to the club. Scott held talks with Zamaretto League Division One Midland club Aylesbury United over two weeks ago.

All at Holyport are delighted that Chapman has decided to stay with the ambitious Port side, whom after their victory against Flackwell Heath on Tuesday must deliver again with three points against Penn & Tylers tomorrow Saturday. Manager Andrews has been forced to rest Lewis Driver due to suspension and will also rest captain Lennon who has a knock to his ankle. This leads the way for Alan Akerman and Sam Jones to make a return to the starting eleven.

New Signing For Port - 26th August

Holyport FC are delighted to announce the signing of Alan Akerman (pictured).

Alan has been signed from FTL Futbol Hellenic Premier side Flackwell Heath. Alan made his full debut against Henley Town on Tuesday evening and nearly opened his scoring account in a tight enounter that finished 2 - 2. Alan played nearly 40 games for Flackwell last season, he will bring competition for places in central midfield whilst his youth and energy will drive Holyport forward.

All at Holyport are delighted that Alan has decided to join the ambitious Holyport side. Manger Jason Andrews will also be able to welcome back last season’s player of the year Sam Jones after he returned to training after injury.

Charter Standard For Port - 18th August

Division One East Holyport FC has joined the list of FTL Futbol Hellenic member clubs who have attained FA Charter Status.

The club are delighted to announce they have achieved The FA Charter Standard Adult Club status on 11 Aug 2009. This Charter status is down to the commitment of coach Tom Donati and all are at Holyport FC would like to put on record their thanks for his drive and support in pushing Holyport forward. This award will help drive Holyport forward off the pitch as they seek a more professional approach within the club.

New Management At Port - 6th August

Holyport FC of FTL Futbol Hellenic One East have announced their management team for the up coming season.

After three seasons as Jason Andrews number two Alex Meffin has stepped aside to become the goal keeping coach. All at the club would like to thank Alex for all of his hard work and efforts over the seasons.

Jason Andrews has named last season’s joint reserve team manager Andy Sinclair as his new number two as well as a new reserve team management structure. The reserves will be managed by Noel Steadman and ex captain’s Richard Tyrell and Nigel Wright be assisting Noel in his role.

Holyport are looking to build on last season’s 5th place finish and FA Vase entry with another ground breaking season. Holyport Football Club, dedicated to continuous improvement…… ‘If it’s possible it’s achievable’
