Success For Youth - 29th April
Pegasus Juniors under 18 team retained the HFA Floodlit League following a resounding 6-0 defeat of nearest rivals Ludlow Town last week.
It was possible for the visitors to gain the title if, by winning all their games in hand, however, they can now only finish five points behind providing they win the remaining fixtures. Captained by Dan Price, who is now a regular for the club's first team, the result was never in doubt after they took a 2-0 half-time lead and scored goals at regular intervals in the second half. It is believed Pegasus become the first team to retain the title since the league's inception.
It is anticipated the Trophy will be presented before the First team game on Saturday, when they host third place Reading Town in the FTL Futbol Hellenic League Premier Division at Old School Lane, Hereford.

Peggy Welcome Pitman - 19th October
Pegasus Juniors have secured the signature of former Hereford United midfield player Jamie Pitman. Pitman is now the Physiotherapist at the Edgar Street club. Pegasus managed to secure the signature of the midfield player despite interest from other clubs. Jamie will be available when his as commitments as Physiotherapist with the Coca-Cola League 2 team permit.
Jamie Pitman was born in Hellenic League area at Trowbridge, Wiltshire and joined Swindon Town as a youth player progressing through the ranks before making three league appearances before being released. He joined Hereford United in early 1996 when the Bulls started their push for the playoffs. He missed much of the following season through injury, which saw Hereford relegated out of the Football League. He stayed with the club for their first season in the Conference before spending two seasons each at Yeovil Town and Woking. During his spell with the Cards he scored the goal that knocked Hereford out of the FA Cup. He rejoined the Bulls for the 2002-03 season. He scored twice on his return, in a 2-1 victory against Farnborough Town and in the next two seasons he missed only a handful of League matches. His final game for the club was the Conference play off final in 2006 when he helped Hereford regain their League status.
At the start of the 2006–07 season, he signed for Forest Green Rovers, where he made a total of 64 appearances in the Conference National scoring just once and was appointed player/assistant manager to Jim Harvey before he departed in August 2008 for Hereford United as their club physiotherapist.

Peggy On TheFA Cup Road -22nd September
On Saturday26th September 2009, Hereford based Pegasus Juniors travel to play Blue Square Conference South side AFC Telford in the 2nd round qualifying of the FA Cup sponsored by E.ON for the biggest game in the history of the club. This is new territory for the Hereford side who has never been beyond the 1st round qualifying in the previous six attempts since moving to their new home at Old School Lane. The size of the task facing Pegasus Juniors is enormous with two leagues separating the teams, to put this into some form of perspective it is like Hereford United travelling to Stoke City.
This is the magic of the FA Cup competition, the game is certainly winnable but, however unlikely, the players have to believe there is a chance no matter how remote it might be, otherwise, it is pointless playing the game. Pegasus Juniors, who were named after the famous Pegasus amateur side of the 1950’s and winners of the FA Amateur Cup several times, continue the amateur tradition, where players do not receive wages or even travelling expenses. The ‘Peggy’ Boys have already sprung major surprises in the competition with away victories at higher graded Willenhall Town and Hednesford Town in the previous rounds. The victory at Hednesford Town in the previous round was arguably the biggest upset of the round and saw Chris Mortlock receive a nomination for ‘Player of the Round’ the outcome is expected by the middle of the week..
The Hereford side will not do anything different as they approach the FA Cup game on Saturday, it will be treated as just another game. The only difference will be the size of the crowd, none of the Pegasus players will have played in front of a crowd any way near the size of the crowd expected at the New Bucks Head. Yes they will have a small band of supporters travelling on a supporter’s coach that will also be a first. If Pegasus Juniors play to their ability they will give the home side a stern test, if not, it will be a long afternoon. What ever the outcome the visitor’s are sure the host club will treat them with the respect they deserve and the Pegasus Junior’s club as a whole will certainly enjoy the occasion.

Biggest One Yet - 8th September
On Saturday, Pegasus Juniors travel to Hednesford Town for the biggest game in their history, for a first round qualifying fixture in TheFACup. This being the furthest the Hereford club has progressed in the competition since being accepted into the competition in the 2005/6 season after moving to the new facilities at Old School Lane.
There opponents however, were formed in 1880 by the merger of two leading clubs, after many years in local competitions they joined the Southern League in 1984. They gained promotion to the Football Conference in 1995, when they won the Southern League Premier Division, but were relegated again in 2001. The Pitmen celebrated promotion with a move to a purpose built stadium called Keys Park having played all of their games prior on the field behind the Cross Keys pub. They had their best run in the Football Conference in 1995|96 season, when they finished third in a tight league, although this was before the days of play-offs in the Football Conference.
They have a distinguished history in the FA Cup with a number of notable scalps including Blackpool and York City. The club also won the 2004 FA Trophy, beating the fancied Canvey Island.
Hednesford Town finished eighth last season in the Unibond Northern League Premier Division after being in play off contention for most of the season. They have been moved for this season by the Football Association into the Southern League Premier Division. Their management duo of ex Wolverhampton Wanders players Dean Edwards and Mel Eves are away of the Pegasus strengths after watching them in the replay at Willenhall.
Hednesford have not had the best of starts this season with eight points, two wind and two draws from seven games.
This will be a very tough challenge for “The Peggy Boys” who, if they play to their potential will provide a stern test to the “The Pitmen” if they do not, it will be a very long ninety minutes but, hey this is the FA Cup and anything is possible.
