MARLOW UNITED F C NEWS

New Signings Make Impact - 22nd January

The return of Callum Coull (left) and Jonny Mason (right) have bolstered Marlow United’s battle to beat the drop from the FTL Futbol Hellenic League Premier Division.

The pair have moved back to Wilks Park on a double transfer from Chalfont Wasps. And they made an immediate impression as Mason Scored twice to help Marlow to a vital 4-2 win at Milton United on Tuesday night.

Mason had been an integral part of Wasps’ treble-winning team last season, but recently fell out of favour with the club. Coull, one of United’s original ‘young guns’ has had a couple of frustrating seasons moving between various clubs, including Flackwell Heath and Marlow FC, before switching to Chalfont Wasps.

United’s recent downturn in form has been down to injuries and suspensions that decimated the squad and at a time when they came up against the league’s big hitters.

Along with the welcome return of Coull and Mason, Jason Bowler is also back after a two-month lay-off through injury and Ben Filmore will commence training this week following a back injury that has seen him sidelined for six weeks. He will be joined by keeper Carl Murray, who has been absent following a fracture received in the FA Vase back in September.

United’s injury list, while diminishing, still sees skipper Tristan Heywood sidelined with a long-standing hernia problem and he could be out for the rest of the season. But Mark Doswell has returned from Australia and Lewis Brown is fit again after a knee injury to give manager Kevin Carvell welcome selection problems.

Marlow are without a game on Saturday.

Marlow History - 29th August

FTL Futbol Hellenic League Premier side Marlow United are making history competing for the first time in The FA Cup, and they make the short trip to Holloways Park to face Southern League Beaconsfield SYCOB.

A bumper £1,500 awaits the winners of the tie and a chance to face Bitton or Bishops Cleeve in the first qualifying round.

United upset the odds in the extra preliminary round with a penalty shoot-out replay win against Hungerford Town, but will find British Gas Business League side Beaconsfield a much tougher prospect.
