Looking For A Change Of Fortune - 24th August

Launton Sports after a somewhat disappointing start to the current campaign with successive defeats against both Letcombe and Tytherington Rocks are now looking forward to a change in fortune as they embark on a busy Bank Holiday period.

In fact the away fixture on Saturday saw Sports outplayed and totally outclassed by Tytherington Rocks with only a Chad Ellis consolation goal as a reward for the long cross country trek.

Despite these set backs managers Arran Hodges and Jason Allen remain confident that that the teams displays will soon improve aided by their constant attempts to strengthen the squad, which hopefully will bear fruit during the build up to the holiday program. The first match see’s the visit of Winterbourne United on Saturday 28th with a 3pm kick off, while on Bank Holiday Monday Sports host local rivals Bicester Town in what should be a very interesting and hopefully entertaining fixture. The game has added spice with the visitors featuring a number of players with strong Launton connections, including Sports old boy Danny Green and Chris Johnson who was brought up in the village were both his parents in fact played for Launton for many seasons.

The game kicks off at 3pm and Sports urge supporters to arrive early and are requested to use the additional car park situated opposite Manor Farm on entry to the Village. Only players and officials should use the Sports & Social Club car park. Interest in the game has increased in recent weeks with the club gaining grateful sponsorship from Fine & Country. Estate Agents of 52 Market Square Bicester for this local derby.
