chris hooper hellenic league footballHoops Back At The Heights - 15 January

The Miltonians have signed on former skipper and midfielder Chris Hooper, in a bid to strengthen the squad and improve their league position.

Hooper was last years captain, at the 2010/11 season club awards he was voted Supporters Player, Managers Player and Players Player of The Year.

Hooper retired at the end of the season at the age of 33, but has been itching to put his football boots on ever since. He is in line to start for Milton when the travel the short journey to Didcot Town on Tuesday evening. Milton are looking to make it two wins on the trot after Saturdays victory.

Great news for the side who beat Trowbridge 4-0 in the Hellenic Supplementary Cup on Saturday, but who are struggling in the bottom places in Division One East. Josh Beech, Carl Bolton, Mark Druce and Warren McCabe were the Milton United scorers and even Miltons' "Old Boy", manager Shaun Smith, stuck his boots on after signing on late Thursday evening.

Summer Sixes - 12 January 2012

Milton United F.C are considering organising a Men's 6-a-side football tournament in the summer.

We are currently looking for teams who are interested to see what numbers we would get. As we know it is going to be a very busy year this year with the 2012 Olympic games in London and the European Championships in Poland/Ukraine. The date has not yet been set, but we shall try to avoid clashing with any crucial England matches and Olympic games. Ages for the mens would be from 16+. We have already had a lot of interest from Veteran teams as well as our own Milton United F.C. For more information please contact Craig Selby via craigselby94@hotmail.co.uk for more information.

Vital Points Needed - 10 December

Uhlsport Hellenic Division One East Milton United will be looking for their third win of the season this afternoon against bottom of the table Hungerford Town Reserves.

The win or drawtoday would push second from bottom Milton up one place in the table above Didcot Town Reserves, who do not have a fixture this weekend. Though a negative result at Hungerford, will see the Miltonians rooted at the bottom of the table with Hungerford moving up two places.

Manager Shaun Smith is hoping to have Kyle Allsworth, Frankie Haines and Paddy Malone back in the side.

Milton Reserves will be hoping to put last Saturdays 5-0 defeat to Chalfont Wasps behind them, when they welcome fifth place Binfield reserves to The Heights. Milton will be hoping, Frankie Dorrian, will be signed on in time for today's Reserves fixture. Veteran player Dorian was with clubs including Banbury United, Brackley Town and Wantage Town during the 90's, before signing for Didcot Town in 2003.

Milton Make Major Signings - 26 November

Milton United manager Shaun Smith is delighted to announce the signing of five new players at the Heights which is just the boost they require after finding themselves bottom of the league albeit with games in hand.

Smith stated: "I have been working tirelessly to bring in some new blood that are local players that can move us forward as a club. I am delighted to announce the signing of Frankie Haines and Kyle Allsworth who are dual signed with Saxton Rovers and Abingdon Town who I am confident will both be first team regulars for many a year. Kyle and Frankie both know where the net is, scoring a lot of goals between them last year albeit in North Berks football but at their age 20 and 19 respectively they have no fear and I am confident from what I have seen they will make a massive impact at the Heights and in the Hellenic League. I would like to say a quick thank you to Tommy Larman Senior for his assistance in these transfers, you are a good man Mr L".

"Also we welcome back the legend that is, Paddy Malone. He has been training for a few weeks and is now ready and raring to go!!! Also signing this week is a young lad called Leroy Maumbe he hasn't played much men's football before but seems to have a decent touch and good awareness on the ball and will be another one for the future."

"The good news doesn't stop there as another Milton Legend Paul Davis is back in training after recovering from a major knee op, unfortunately it will be nearer Christmas before we see him. Also on a positive front Ross Tabor is back in training and should be ready to play within the next three weeks. So things are really looking up."

"Milton have lost three players this year to other clubs within the Hellenic League which is disappointing but understandable when they are signing for Premier league teams like Paul Sanders did. The other two slightly disappointingly (as they are local lads) are now travelling all the way to Thatcham to play for a reserve side in the same league. And you guessed it, Milton's next game is Thatcham Reserves at home on Monday night which could be interesting!!"
