OXFORD CITY NOMADS F C NEWS
Oxford City Sign Nomad Player On Contract - 13th February

Talented young player Mark Bell has signed a contract with British Gas Business Southern League Division One South & West club Oxford City for the next eighteen months. Bell has progressed through the youth side and Sport Italia Hellenic One Oxford City Nomads` team and has worked very hard to secure a first-team place this year.

He is showing terrific potential with thirteen goals from eighteen appearances to date. This in itself is a great achievement for an 18-year-old, especially as Bell is a wide midfield player.

He has also scored seven goals in six appearances for City Nomads, unfortunately, his registration for City Nomads will now be suspended with the signing of a contract. Oxford City manager, Justin Merritt, is certain there is much more to come from Bell as he learns the game and how to be effective for the team both on and off the ball. Merritt said: “He has lots of good attributes that will stand him in good stead as he progresses through his footballing career.”

Final 125th Anniversary Function - 5th June
In their 125th Anniversary Season Oxford City have held several milestone events - these include the re-staging of the 1906 FA Amateur Cup Final v Bishop Auckland, the unique opening of a Charity Stand directing all seating revenue to Helen & Douglas House hospice and the inaugural Football Festival week-end for over 70 teams of boys and girls.   These events have been great successes for the club and raised the profile of non-league football locally.   The final celebration event takes place next week-end with the Oxford City Beer Festival.  All clubs and supporters are cordially invited to attend and sample the beers and the Oxford City hospitality and no doubt discuss the highs and lows of last season and hopes for the next which is just a few weeks away.  The list of beers includes a special brew by the local OLD BOG BREWERY under the name of CITY 125 - at 5.5% its well worth a try!
