New Management Take First Match - 9th December

Last Saturday Swindon Supermarine finally got to play their first match under the new management team of Ken Turner and Tony Webb at the 4th time of asking following the bad weather and having games called off. In which time Ken and Tony was able to have a look at the squad in training sessions and also make several new signings. We would like to take this chance to thank the former management team of Martyn and Chris Robinson and wish them all the very best in what ever they have decided to do.

Saturday saw Swindon Supermarine play Cricklade Town reserves in the Reserve challenge cup and on paper looked a very tough fixture to start the new era. Cricklade been on a great run which has seen them top of the reserves division 2 west league, Supermarine also handed many players a debut for the club and also included players from the supermarine under 18 team of which craig Mooney started his first game at left back. It took Supermarine 15 minutes to get going but once they finally got their they never looked back Ben Read opened the scoring just before the break but that goal was quickly followed up by a debut goal from Luke Preston who has impressed since his transfer for Wootton Bassett. After the break supermarine came out all guns firing again and it was soon 3-0 again another Goal from on fire striker Ben Read. during the second half several fine tackles from Skipper Gavin Cook helped marine on there way but just before the end Sub Dave Lovejoy make the game safe and make sure that marine has a home tie against local rivals Highworth town.
After the game The mangement team was over the moon and was just delighted to have finally got a game under their belts and got to see their team in a match situation.

Thanks To Thames' Therapist - 8th October

During the Thame United v Swindon Supermarine Floodlit Cup played on Tuesday evening Marine's John Turner suffered a serious problem with only a few minutes of the match left to go. Thame United's therapist helped Marine's staff with the stabilisation of John and he even stayed with the player after the game. An ambulance was called and he was still at the ground being treated until 11pm.

Swindon Supermarine would really like to express their thanks for the efforts of the Thame therapist and other Thame official's who were involved. Everyone at Swindon Supermarine was so grateful for everything that was done. It really was great to see how two clubs can work together when something like this happens and it really shows that no matter what happens on the pitch off it we can all work together.

The update on John Turner is that he suffered concussion and is now back at his home in Swindon resting.
