The Hellenic League's involvement in the Respect campaign would appear to be making news, as The Reading Evening Post's David Wright features details of local team's in his column.
"Highmoor are five points clear at the top of Division 1 East and looking well on their way to winning the title at their first attempt. But their run of success is being blighted by poor discipline by the players. They have the worst disciplinary record in the entire Hellenic League."
"Highmoor have accumulated a total of 83 points following a succession of red and yellow cards. The next highest are Premier Division basement boys Bracknell Town with 72. In the Respect League, clubs receive points on a scale of one to 10 for various offences during a game. It’s six for using offensive, insulting and abusive language and Highmoor have been hit by four red cards. Another 48 points stem from 24 cautions for dissent. The club have warned their players about on-field behaviour, as it overshadows their footballing skills. Highmoor, managed by player Shane Small-King, are undoubtedly a very skillful side, as they showed when holding Premier Division high-flyers Shortwood to a 2-2 draw over 90 minutes in the Floodlit Cup last week before losing 4-3 on penalties."
"At the opposite end of the Respect League to Highmoor are Division 1 East rivals Finchampstead, who have conceded just nine disciplinary points so far this season. No team in the entire league boasts a better record although Division 1 West sides Brimscombe Thrupp and Carterton are also on nine. Premier Division title-chasing Shortwood head the Premier list with 10 points, four fewer than current leaders Ardley United".
"Reading Town, who have worked hard to improve their disciplinary record, are 13th in the Premier Respect table with 37 points. Wokingham & Emmbrook are seventh with 30, with Henley right behind them on 33. Binfield are 12th with 35. In Division 1 East, Thatcham Reserves fill fifth place with Woodley eighth on 14 and Newbury 19th on 20".

Respect Programme - 14 January 2012
Co-ordinating with the Hellenic League’s participation in the FA Respect programme, a league table of Respect driven offences has been formulated and is now published. It includes all bookings and sending off’s, as well as other breaches aligned to the ‘FA Respect’ Programme, up to 31 December 2011.
Everyone can now see where clubs are positioned in the tables, and can be compared with others. Because of the difference in games played between the Hellenic League Premier and Division One clubs, separate tables have been produced, but the average figures for each club provides an indicator of points per match across the board. Congratulations to Shortwood and New College Swindon on achieving the best results, so far. Bracknell Town and Highmoor-Ibis need to address the situation without delay.
Now you are all in the picture, we intend to wipe the slate clean and run a new table from 1 January 2012 to the end of the season, allowing teams a fresh start. The teams doing well in the second half will be considered for bonus points in the end of season Fair Play awards, those at the other end of the table could see points deducted from the Sponsorship Prize Fund. The ‘Respect’ programme is not going to go away, so the quicker players and team management get on board the more lucrative it will be for your club.
