In the all Hellenic League clash between Thame United and Lydney Town, the home side opened with a Luke Ricketts strike, which was cancelled early in the second period by John Kear.  Thame had to rely on a late effort from Stuart Braun to take the tie.  Wootton Bassett Town travelled to Toolstation Western League’s Almondsbury UWE and came through when Sam Collier hit the only goal of the game midway through the first half.  Against Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League sides, Binfield had a field day against Camberley Town, winning by 5-1, thanks to James Suarez and Ian and Carl Davies with two-a-piece.  Flackwell Heath travelled to Epsom & Ewell and lost by the odd goal in five.  On target for the Heathens with second half efforts were Adam Durrant and Nathan Poulton.  Facing Sydenham's Wessex League opposition Highworth Town were on the road at Bournemouth Poppies and won after taking an early two goal lead thanks to a TJ Bohane header and an individual effort from James Guthrie.  Old Woodstock Town demolished visitors Laverstock & Ford, winning by 6-3, courtesy of a Luke Ingram hat-trick, a Jack Dunmall pair and one from Ryan Brooks.
Reading Town struggled at home to Isle of Wight outfit, Newport losing 4-1.  Danny Seaward was on target for the consolation goal.  After the long journey down to Totton & Eling for their Friday night fixture, Shortwood United came away with a goalless draw and a Tuesday replay.  With the prospect of higher league opposition Witney United drew 2-2 at Thatcham Town of the Zamaretto League.  In an exciting last 20 minutes, the Blanketmen took the lead through Chris Zoldan but were soon behind after conceding twice to the home side before Rich Conway popped up with the equalizer in the dying moments of the tie.  Bracknell Town were at Walton & Hersham of the Ryman League and after going behind in the third minute, were unable to get that equalizer and succumbed to more goals late in the game.

Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division
In the top-of-the-table clash between Ascot United and Slimbridge, the home side edged it by the odd goal in five.  Scoring for the Yellamen were John Bennett, Chris Page and Sam McIntyre and for the Swans, Danny Chandler and Leon Cornwall.  High flying Ardley United were too good for visitors Shrivenham, hitting five without reply thanks to Murray Nicholl and Jordan Ayris with two-a-piece and Danny Bone.  Fairford Town took an early lead through Jacques Tertois against Abingdon Town but Paul Alder replied with the equalizer just before the break.  Kidlington overran Pegasus Juniors, thanks to strikes from Jordan Harker, Jimmy Deabill, Jack Quainton and Mark Flanagan.  Tom Boyle found the net late in the game for Peggy’s consolation.  Whipping boys Oxford City Nomads shipped another five goals at home to Carterton.  On target for the Kilkenny Lane outfit were Mark Threlfall and Dave Bostock with two-a-piece and Kevin Lewis.  Scoring the Nomads’ consolation was Jon Little.  Wokingham& Emmbrook did well to beat visitors, Wantage Town.  The Satsumas took a two goal cushion early in the second period after Dave Bellis and Shane Cooper-Clark found the target in quick succession.  Tom Butler’s reply was not enough to affect the outcome of the game. 

Division One(West)
Bicester Town and Letcombe shared the points and half a dozen goals in a game for the spectators.  Del Harris, Lenny Sackey and an OG completed the Foxhunters tally and for Letcombe, Rob Joyce, Adam Pendell and Pat Horswell added their names to the scoresheet.  Easington Sports lost narrowly to Purton by the odd goal in three.  Headington Amateurs went ahead after a Neil Lockhart penalty but Cricklade Town’s Dane Moulden replied just before half time.  However a Luis DeGarces effort just after the break settled the outcome in the “As” favour.  Launton Sports have still to register a point after a visit from Winterbourne United.  Sean Murray put the Oxfordshire side into an early lead but they were eventually overhauled with efforts from Tam Kitgrave, Geraint Williams and Ashley Knight with a brace.  Malmesbury Victoria took the lead after 12 minutes through Mark Field but could not hang onto it, succumbing to Clanfield’s Craig Mays with a pair and Chris Blakely.  Trowbridge Town were no match for Cheltenham Saracens, conceding four times without reply, courtesy of a Dan Shatford brace and one each from Sonnie Burrows and Jamie Hammond.

Division One(East)
Farnborough Reserves lost out to the only goal of the game from Chinnor’s John Ayres just before the break.  Woodley Town went into the break 1-0 up thanks to a Tom Williams strike at Henley Town but had to be contented with a point after Alex Allen’s second half equalizer.  Milton United were winners over Chalfont Wasps by the odd goal in three.  On target for the men from the Heights were Joe Brewerton and Chris Hooper with a goal in each half, and for the Wasps, Alfie Cumber.  Penn & Tylers Green conceded twice without replying to the fancied Newbury.  Both goals came in the first period through Dan Collins and Russell Benham.  South Kilburn conceded three times in the second period to lose out to visitors, Finchampstead.  On target for the Finches were Lewis Frostick, Pete Hamilton and Pat Selby

Premier Division
In some high scoring games, Abingdon Town hit the jackpot scoring nine goals, thanks to a Niall Hodgkins hat-trick, a Danny Thomas pair and singles from Jordan Reid, Jake Howard, Jefferson Harriott and Ben Green.  Replying late on with a consolation strike for the hapless Pegasus Juniors was Cain Clark.  Ardley United stamped their authority over Carterton, scoring five times without reply courtesy of a hat-trick from Danny Bone, a pair from Troy Bryan and one from Murray Nicholls.  They have now scored at least three goals in each of their four opening matches.  Early league leaders Ascot United were brought down to earth losing to a resurgent Highworth Town who posted their first points of the season courtesy of strikes from Tom Dingle and James Guthrie.  Bracknell Town lost a close fought contest by the odd goal in five to Slimbridge who remain unbeaten.  On target for the home side was Rob Yorke-Goldney with a second half pair and for the visitors, Ed Ward, Marvin Roberts and with the last minute winner, the impressive Joe Tustain.  Kidlington surrendered the points to Shrivenham after Nick McCrae’s late winner.  Kiddy’s Danny Mason had given Shrivvy an early lead with an own goal but made amends soon after with a strike for the home side to make it one-a-piece at the break.  Old Woodstock Town mugged visitors Wokingham & Emmbrook with five late goals.  Chris Fower and Tom Hopper had given the Satsumas the lead with a goal either side of the break but in an extraordinary final 15 minute spell, the home side took the points courtesy of Jack Dunmall with a hat-trick, Kyle McCoy and Adam Doyle.  Oxford City Nomads were overwhelmed by visitors Wootton Bassett Town, shipping eight without reply. In line for the turkey shoot were Alex Green with a four-timer, Ethan Delaney, Terry Adams, Sam Collier and James Turner.  Reading Town were three up at the break against Fairford Town, thanks to efforts from Marcus Richardson, Barry Elmore and Danny Seaward.  However, Jack Williams’ reply early in the second half was not enough to start a comeback for the visitors.  Highly fancied Shortwood United should have sealed the points with their first half display against visitors, Binfield but the Moles turned it around after the break and deserved the point after sharing six goals.  On target for the Wood were Matt Green with a brace and Ben Pugh and for the Moles, James Suarez, Tim Walsh and Carl Davies.  Wantage Town took the points in their encounter with Thame United thanks to Stuart Cattell’s first half effort.  Witney United eventually overcame visitors, Flackwell Heath by the odd goal in five in an end-to-end game which saw Sean McKeon score a hat-trick for the Blanketmen and replying for the Heathens were Lee Thompson and Danny Jordan.

Division One(West)
Cheltenham Saracens picked up their first points of the season with a 3-1 win over Hook Norton, despite going behind to an early Jody McKay goal.  Leading the way for the Saras was Mike Rhodes with a hat-trick.  Clanfield drew with Cricklade Town.  Alex Povey opened the scoring for the visitors just after the break but Dan Bishop replied soon after for the home side.  Headington Amateurs were quickly two down to Winterbourne United, thanks to strikes from Ashley Knight and Geraint Williams but saving the day for the “As” were Neil Lockhart with a brace, Luke Cuff and Ollie Zaja.  Letcombe’s Pete Horswell scored the only goals of the match in their encounter with Easington Sports with one in each half to secure the win for the home side.  Lydney Town had to wait until Niall Halford’s 85th minute strike to claim the result over visitors Trowbridge Town.  Malmesbury Victoria began their league campaign with a draw with visitors, Bicester Town.  Mark Field gave the Vics a second half lead but this was quickly cancelled out by a Daryl Harris reply.  Tytherington Rocks gave Launton Sports a lesson in scoring, hitting the net half a dozen times thanks to Jimmy Potts with a hat-trick, Marcus Taylor, Jon Peacock and Ollie Clark.  Carl Ellis hit the net for the visitors’ consolation goal.

Division One(East)
Chalfont Wasps lost a close encounter with Woodley Town by the odd goal in three.  Jamie Felstead had given the Town an early lead but this was cancelled out by a Ryan Sweales second half reply.  However, Luke Williams was on hand to secure the points for the visitors with his late strike.  Didcot Town Reserves opened their account for the season with a 2-2 draw against Farnborough Reserves. Josh Daniels opened the scoring for the visitors only to see Ian Roper and then Alex Mott reply with goals either side of the break for the Railwaymen.  Daniels’ last minute penalty rescued a point for the visitors.  New boys Hungerford Town Reserves kicked off their league season with a 5-0 drubbing of Milton United.  Scoring for the Berkshire outfit were Shaun Thorp with a hat-trick and Ian Concannon with a brace.  A late goal from Newbury’s Jamie Green was all that separated them from visitors, Chinnor.  Penn & Tylers Green won comfortably by 5-2 in their fixture against Finchampstead.  Scoring for Penn were Jamie Hunt, Chris Hurst with two, Ricci Putnam and Aidan Taylor and for the Finches, Pat Selby and Pete Hamilton.  Rayners Lane began their league campaign with a defeat to visiting side, Holyport.  Perri Michaels was on target for the Lane but strikes from Lewis Driver, Alan Akerman and Lee Jerrum settled the result for the visitors.  South Kilburn lost out to a late strike from Henley Town’s Harry Djemil to give the Oxfordshire outfit the points in their first league outing.

The FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round

In the all-Hellenic clashes, there was a scoreless draw between Fairford Town and Lydney Town, Milton United lost out to Witney United thanks to goals from Sam McNally and Conor Allmond either side of the break for the Blanketmen.  Thame United’s Alex Stewart with a brace and an own goal were enough to overcome visitors, Shrivenham.  Wantage Town lost a closely fought contest by the odd goal in five to visitors Shortwood United.  On target for the Alfredians were Danny Keen and Tom Malton and for the Wood, Martyn Pearce, Alton Axton and Ross Casey.  In matches featuring Toolstation Western League opponents, Bicester Town conceded twice to visitors Westbury United without replying.  Sam Collier had given Wootton Bassett Town a half-time lead but home side, Bradford Town scored a late equaliser to force the replay.  Ardley United travelled to Bristol Manor Farm and eventually lost in an end-to-end thriller which saw eight goals scored.  Netting for the visitors were Ben Milner, Andy Stidder and Troy Bryan.  Reading Town went through to the next round thanks to strikes from Danny Seaward and Adam Cashin-Murray in their fixture at Warminster Town.  In matches featuring Sydenhams Wessex League opposition, Kidlington endured the long journey to the Isle of Wight to face Newport and lost out to a very late winner.  Abingdon Town went out at Bournemouth Poppies after falling behind to an early strike. 
Old Woodstock Town grabbed the only goal of the game at Brockenhurst.  Clanfield went into a half-time lead thanks to a Craig Mays effort at Fareham Town but lost after conceding three times in the second period.  Hook Norton were no match for Laverstock & Ford, conceding six times before Pete Moulder managed a late consolation effort. 
Against Cherry Red Records Combined Counties Football League sides visitors, Bracknell Town were too good for Dorking, scoring five without reply courtesy of Callum Whitty, Tom Nugent, Dean Thomas and Ben Knight with a pair.  Against sides from the Sussex County League, Binfield won by the odd goal in five against Crawley Down, thanks to an Ian Davies hat-trick, Holyport lost on the road at East Grinstead Town, conceding twice without replying.  Flackwell Heath went through against Oakwood, courtesy of a Danny Jordan brace.  Finally Pegasus Juniors went 1-0 up after an early Andy Mowen effort against Midland Football Combination outfit, Heather St Johns but conceded a last ditch effort from the visitors to force the replay.

Premier Division
Ascot United went 1-0 up at Carterton, thanks to an Ian Brooks effort in the first period.  Rob Saunders then increased the lead before Tom Fletcher managed a reply, which came too late to change the result.  Newly promoted rivals Wokingham & Emmbrook and Slimbridge drew after Shane Cooper-Clark’s opener for the Satsumas was cancelled out by a late own goal.

Division One(West)
Cricklade Town thrashed Tytherington Rocks by 7-4.  On target for Crick were Pete McGuinegall, Dane Moulden, Arron Maximen and with pairs each, Sam Reason and Alex Povey.  Replying for the Rock were Nathan Irwin, Mark Totterdale and Jimmy Potts with a brace.  Easington Sports drew two-all with Winterbourne United.  Launton Sports took a first half lead through Dan Sweeney against Letcombe, but were eventually swamped after conceding four times in the second period thanks to efforts from Paul Roberts, Liam Bint and Pete Horswell with two.  Purton were comfortable winners over Cheltenham Saracens.  Jonny Coole, Marcus Hall and old-timer Justin Miller were on target for Purton with Carl Griffiths hitting the Saracens’ consolation effort.  Trowbridge Town thought they’d done enough to earn a point after a Paul Beavers late effort had cancelled out an earlier Luke Cuff strike for visitors, Headington Amateurs but they hadn’t counted on Justice Muze and Neil Lockhart who both scored in the dying minutes of the game to secure the points for the “As”.

Division One(East)
Chalfont Wasps were 3-0 up at half-time thanks to Fred Trip, Kieran Webb and Ryan Sweales against Farnborough Reserves but Jordan Merriman’s second-half reply was not enough to start a comeback by the visitors.  Newbury won by the odd goal in five over visitors, Finchampstead.  Penn & Tylers Green lost an entertaining encounter with Woodley Town, by the odd goal in seven.  Chris Hurst with a pair and Ricci Putnam hit the target for Penn with Jamie Fairchild, Luke Williams and a Tom Williams brace replying for the visitors.  South Kilburn looked to have the points in the bag in their encounter with Chinnor after Jerome Scarlett and Marcus Fearon had given them a comfortable lead.  However Lewis Craker and Richard Carr redressed the balance for the visitors with strikes in the final minutes of the match.
