Malvern Town have joined forces with their friends at the local junior club, Leigh and Bransford Badgers FC, in support of the Malvern Hills District Council (MHDC) Food Bank, with the backing of Sarah Rouse, Chair of MHDC.
This combined initiative aims to increase supplies of key goods for our neighbours, friends and residents. A collection point has been established at the HDANYWHERE Community Stadium in order to make donations as easy as possible.
Research would indicate that one in five under 15 year-olds in the UK lives in a home where the parents can’t afford to put food on the table and we want to help those locally that are in need.
WHAT TO DONATE
Every food parcel, drawn from your Food Bank donations, is aimed to provide a minimum of three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable foods, to the needy within our local community.
The following items are required to make up a food parcel: Cereal, soup, pasta, rice, tinned tomatoes/ pasta sauce, lentils, beans and pulses, tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tea/coffee, tinned fruit, biscuits, UHT milk and fruit juice.
But it’s not just food that is needed; we can help with other essential items such as: Toiletries, deodorant, toilet paper, shower gel, shaving gel, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand wipes. household items, laundry liquid detergent, laundry powder, washing up liquid, feminine products such as sanitary towels and tampons plus baby supplies like nappies, baby wipes and baby food.
