Malvern Town have launched a campaign called TARGET 200+ as they look to attract another bumper crowd to Saturday’s home League game against Tytherington Rocks (kick-off 3.00pm).
Attendances for the Division One West club have been up on last season following the redevelopment of the HDANYWHERE Community Stadium, which opened its doors in November, and last weekend’s 6-1 victory over Thornbury Town attracted an impressive 217, which in turn helped to inspire the team to a devastating display against opponents who went into the game in second place in the table.
“To have over 200 people through the gate was brilliant and it helped to up our game,” admitted co-manager, Lee Hooper. “We’re regularly in the top five attendances for this level of football in the whole country and it is a great effort from the local community. Hopefully more and more people will come along to see what is happening here and this level of support will really help in our quest to take the uhlsport Hellenic League One West title."
“As a club we want to reach out and embrace all members of the local community. We have received plenty of praise for the matchday experience that we offer here; it’s a welcoming environment and there is a really positive atmosphere around the place. We’ve always had an superbly loyal hardcore of fans who follow the team home and away, to whom we are extremely grateful, and now we urge others to come along and give us a try. We want people to spread the word; bring your family and friends because this club is really going places. In our 11 home games since the stadium reopened there have been a total of 76 goals, so you certainly get entertained here!”
Come and join us on Saturday! We’ve got hot/cold food and drink at great prices, a full-colour, glossy Matchday Programme, merchandise and all the Sky Sports action on our TV screens. Everyone is welcome.
