A Debut To Remember - 18 October

harry wickett malvernA debut to remember for livewire front-man, Ameer Khan, as he bagged a hat-trick to help the Malvern Town Development Team make Bateman Sports Challenge Cup progress with a 5-3 extra-time victory over Bourton Rovers Reserves.

The 19 year-old, whose former clubs include Redditch United, Pershore Town and Black Country Rangers, looked sharp as he netted twice in extra-time to see us through. I was very pleased to get a hat-trick,” he said with a smile. “I was buzzing to get the goals in extra-time to put the tie to bed and see us through. It’s great to be part of a good team and amongst a great bunch of lads. I’m young and still learning the game so this is an ideal place for me to come and develop."

“I am always looking to push myself to be better; I will give 100% week in, week out to help the team and push myself towards first-team contention because I want to be playing at the highest level I possibly can. There’s a clear pathway here and that’s a great incentive for us all. I am looking forward to the League season getting underway for us next weekend. I’ve set myself personal goals and I will be doing all I can to achieve them."

“I’m feeling confident; I love scoring goals and always try to play with a smile on my face and enjoy it. As a striker, I know that if I can get on the scoresheet regularly I will be able to stake a claim to be in and around the first-team. It’s a level that I have played at before earlier in my career and I have the drive and determination to get back there. To do that I have to do the business on a consistent basis for the Development team. It’s been a positive start but there is plenty of hard work ahead and I’m ready for it.”

"We are finally due to start our Hellenic League Division Two West campaign on Saturday with a home game against Evesham United Development (kick-off 3.00pm)."
