Shrivenham announce that the experienced and highly respected Elliott Day has been appointed to the role of First XI Coach.
Elliott will work with Manager Chris Hurley on the progression of the new group of players that is being assembled at Barrington Park and will be a familiar face to many, as he has been around the club for many years.
Involved with the club for over twenty years, Elliott has certainly grown up around the club – from being a supporter as a child to getting involved in cleaning the first team players boots and doing chores around the clubhouse as the years progressed and is heavily invested and has the enthusiasm to help the club progress.
Elliott said "I started playing for the club when I was four years old and developed through the youth section into the first team where I made my first appearance as a 16-year old,” he said following accepting the role."
“Following a serious knee injury which required major surgery just under two years ago, my playing career was cut short prematurely but the injury allowed me the time to invest in the coaching aspect of the game. "
“I’ve been involved in coaching for over ten years and over the last three, I've been coaching in the club’s youth section having returned from the States where I coached across two franchises full-time, one in Boston and the other in Florida."
"Studying football across various cultures has enabled me to be flexible with my approach to coaching"
